We encourage chart users to tell us of any corrections needed to our charts. Also of any cruiser 'need-to-know' info, or important notices for navigation, such as wrecks, shifting sand bars, etc.
Please note the following updates for the Turks
& Caicos Islands:
- $50 per person Immigration Charge. Since August 2002 there has been a charge for persons visiting the Turks & Caicos Islands - either by air or sea. This charge is currently applied to visit extensions after the first seven days. For full details see Chart Notes / Customs & Immigration. 3/02.
- Sandbore Channel, Providenciales - Freighter
Wreck is no longer visible. 3/02
- West Caicos - Marina construction at West Caicos is on hold until the Island Hotel project is finished. Marina channel and basin are dredged and bulk headed but there are no slips for berthing or cleats to tie to, and no water or fuel available. Cruisers have been welcome to anchor in the marina basin, but they must keep clear of the main commercial dock. 4/06
- Providenciales - Construction of a new marina at Cooper Jack Bight has stopped. 4/06
- All navigation lights throughout the Turks & Caicos Islands have now been replaced with modern apparatus, except for the South Caicos Harbour Channel entry lights and the two West Caicos Island lights, at Company Point and South End – both of which will be installed by Island developers at some future time. 4/06
- At Grand Turk a ‘T’ shaped jetty to accommodate two cruise ships was completed late 2005 and cruise ships are now visiting regularly. 4/06
- Many Turks & Caicos and Bahama marinas are now offering a wireless service for visitors with computers – see marina directory for more info. 4/06
