The warship sank after hitting an uncharted reef in the
Turks & Caicos Islands in 1790 and lay forgotten for
almost two centuries. Recently relocated, the wreck site
is now a popular local dive site. The map features original
line drawings of the vessel's hull, route plan and underwater
sketch of anchors, guns and other artifacts. Excerpts from
the Court Martial tell the circumstances leading up to the
wrecking and of the commander and 300 crew members' successful
efforts in salvaging essential supplies and escaping from
the tragedy without loss of life.
